Document Mirroring: Image Editing

Document Mirroring

What is Document Mirroring? The process of copying a file to exact parameters of the original version, and creating a sperate file. This can be used for text files, and some types of images. Mirroring a document, or simply mirroring is the technique referred to copying a file to its exact parameters. There should be zero difference between the original document, and the new one that has just been married. This takes time, and of course technique, to understand all of the elements that need to be considered.

How do you Mirror an Image File?

Memory and image can be a simple process, or extremely complicated. This depends on what type of file you are trying to recreate. If it is a simple photograph, then you may be able to crop the sections you want, and create a separate file, if it is a text file that has been placed as an image or pdf, then transferring the information pertaining to each line is your next option. This process involves understanding which element is which, and finding each one accordingly. In some cases, you may need to mix and match cut and pasting protocols, with adding original text. This method also creates a new file that can be updated, and built upon. In some cases, text files like PDFs may register as images.

Step 1: Download the file or document, and save it someplace that can be accessible. Keep it for future use, because you are going to need it to make sure that all of the parameters are exactly the same.

Step 2: Try and use standard cut and paste methods to copy or transfer the document or file to the system that you're going to use to edit it. Compare both images and find out if they both match. If not, move forward to step three.

Step 3: If you cannot directly transfer the information, then take the information that you can transfer, and begin reformatting it to match the corresponding text; or what is known as the mirroring process. If you can open two windows, or use two separate monitors this will help with comparing both documents and ensuring that they both match correctly. If you do not have the correct font, there are problems that you can use to download the exact font you're looking for. If you can refer to any of the data that was able to be transferred, then editing it to the correct parameters will be a lot faster. Otherwise, it's time to start typing out, and mirroring each section line by line. This can mean using text boxes, bullet points, images or colors.

Step 4: compare both documents. Make sure that each pixel matches each pixel line by line. This is imperative to ensure that the document has been mirrored correctly. You also have to make sure that it is saved in the format that can be used to edit or make updates or decisions in the future. The first copy that you create will be known as your template, and can be copied, and then altered or revised as you need to make changes or additions in the future.

Fonts

Some fonts can be downloaded, acquired or altered using different editing techniques. Here are a few resources that you can use to find and download specific fonts. If you know what the font's name is, search for that specific font title and then download it from a reputable source. After unzipping the file, it can be used in conjunction with several different types of word processing software.

Overlays

Images can be overlaid, and plates on top of each other to create effects, or develop a specific style or texture. In order to correctly mirror the document in question, using overlays may be a necessary component to consider. This can be done by selecting the specific image you want to use, and please to get in the same position, and using an overlay function. Basic background removing techniques, and for images that have been automatically background removed will help with this process.

Pages

Once you have located all of the correct information to add, and completed the first section, building each page will come naturally. If there are multiple pages, then focusing on ensuring that each one of the pages matches the other will take time if you do not match all of the other correct parameters on the first page.

Pageless Mode

Most word processing programs allow you with the option to put your document into what is known as pageless mode. Using this format will accumulate all of the text into one document, and remove all of the spaces between the pages. You can then place each image on a the page. This comes in handy when you are mirroring files with multiple pages. If there are more than one, then this may be necessary for mirroring specific types of documents, or ensuring that you have the right page size.

Creating a platform that allows you to access your information, make changes and updates is the important part of learning how to correctly mirror a specific type of document. If you need any help, guidance or assistance then please reach out.
