Front and Back
The front and back portion of your book cover comes with 10 important elements.
1. Primary Text
This can be the author's name, the title of the story or the series of books/publications.
2. Text Description
This section tells the audience more about your publication. It can be a description, explanation or quote.
3. Main Image
Main image should be your audience's vocal point, and tell them something about the publication. It can be a piece of artwork, it can be what's publication is, it could be a shape, or it can be more text.
4. Seal or Stamp
This is not necessary, but can be added to the book to tell the audience where the book was published, or if it has received any awards or notoriety.
5. Secondary Text
This can be the title of the book, or the author's name. Depending on your audience, or if there are any other books that are following the same format. This may be necessary for publishing book series.
6. Barcode/QR Code
A barcode can be used for books that are being printed in physical format. It is only to track your product, or share more information pertaining to the publication house, author or other works. Then many things a barcode or QR code can do.
7. Top Corner
This section can be used for a logo, or other secondary art piece.
8. Primary Rear Panel Text
This area is designated for the description of the book or publication.
9. Secondary Rear Panel Text
This can be information pertaining to the publishing house, copyright or dates.
10. Background Image
The background image can be used to cover the entire book combo or be used in sections. Depending on what you are trying to represent, express or depict, there are several different elements to consider when designing your background artwork.
